Mukimul Ahsan Himel of Channel 24 emerged champion of the Table Tennis Competition of the Dhaka Reporters Unity Annual Sports Competition when he edged past Jafar Iqbal of the Daily Sangram by 3-1 sets in the final at the Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Indoor Stadium on Sunday.
Jafar Iqbal became runners-up while Rumel Khan of the Daily Janakantha finished third.
Earlier, Himel defeated Rumel Khan by 2-0 sets in the first semifinal while Jafar Iqbal beat Shawkat Ali Khan Litho of the Daily Sun by 2-0 sets at the same venue on the same day.
A total of 30 players took part in the Table Tennis Competition.
Finance Secretary of Bangladesh Table Tennis Federation Tajuddin Pappu gave all sorts of cooperation to run the Tournament smoothly.
