A portion of Shilpkala Academy, Chittagong was damaged to some extents with the hillslide of Manola Pahar beside the academy yesterday following the heavy downpour in the port city for the last four days.
Hillslide is largely feared in the hill pockets of the city due to torrential rain. Recently, district administration evacuated 150 families from the Motijharna and Baizid hill areas following the deaths of six persons including minors.
Academy sources said about 30 feets hilmud collapsed of the Manola hill and the hill earth entered in the class room damaging the school furniture and no casualties reported in the hillslide.
