UN Resident Coordinator and Resident Representative Robert Watkins assured the hill residents of continuing assistance to ensure faster improvement of their living standard.
He expressed satisfaction over the successes achieved in vital areas of people’s empowerment and socio-economic advancement. While paying visit to a hilly village in Bandukbhanga Union on Tuesday, the UN Representative exchanged views with the mountain-based people and other stakeholders associated with the ongoing UNDP projects.
Despite completion of the projects scheduled to be ended within current year, the assistance process will continue for socio-economic development of the people living in the mountain enclaves, he confirmed.
Deputy Director of the UNDP-CHTDF Prasenjit Chakma, Project Implementation and District Manager Rob Stolamyan, Ms. Ashraya Chakma were among others present on the occasion.
