Police rounded up one hijacker alongwith arms from north kattali embankment area under Pahartali thana in city on Friday night.
The hijacker identified as Md, Masum(30) . Pahartali thana sub-inspector AK Fazlul Hoque told this correspondent that on Friday holiday , huge visitors turn out in Pahartali embankment area to witness the sea view of the Bay . While checking a auto-rickshaw in embankment area, three passengers run away quickly from the taxi but police on duty managed to apprehend on Masum redhanded.
On searching his body, police recovered on LG and one catridge from his possession.
An arm case has been lodged with the Pahartali thana under arms act against him, sources said.
An unidentified young man was stabbed to death by miscreants in Firingibazar area under Kotwali thana of the port city on Thursday.
The deceased, aged around 25, was wearing pants and trousers.
Quoting witnesses, sub-inspector Nurul Islam of the thana said some miscreants stabbed the youth indiscriminately at Masjidgali of the area around 5:30am and fled the scene, leaving him critically injured.
Later, he died while being rushed to Chittagong Medical College Hospital by locals.
The body was kept at the hospital morgue.
