A fire that broke out in the 19-storey Silver Tower in the capital’s Gulshan-1 on Wednesday afternoon was doused within 30 minutes.
The real reason behind the blaze and the extent of damage could not be known yet, said Ataur Rahman, Duty-Officer of the Fire Service and Civil Defence (FSCD).
“Ten fire fighter units moved to the spot immediately and extinguished the fire within 30 minutes.”
He said the fire originated on the 9th floor around 1:30pm and the flames were brought under control around 2:00pm.
The fire might have been caused by an air-cooling device on the ninth floor of the building and there were no casualties, he suspected.
