A Hi-Tech park will be built in Shibchar Upazila of Madaripur district. The State Minister for Information and Communication Technology (ICT), Zunaid Ahmed Palak said it while addressing a programme there.
“Sheikh Hasina Institute of Information Technology and Hi-Tech Park will be built on the bank of river Padma in Shibchar upazila,” the state minister said. He said it while addressing the annual conference of Bangladesh Chhatra League, an associate body of ruling Awami League, Shibchar upazila and municipal units.
The State Minister said that the planned Hi-Tech park would open window of ICT based employments for the young generation. He also said that a total of 28 ICT parks will be built across the country, adding that specialists from abroad would come to research on ICT in those parks.
He said the government has taken huge initiatives to build a technology based young generation.
“The government has established 5,500 Sheikh Russel Digital Labs in one lakh and 70 thousand educational institute across the country. Four crore 27 thousand of students are enjoying those facilities for learning ICT,” Palak said.
He also said that the government will establish 15 thousand more such labs in different districts.
Ruling party MPs Nur-E-Alam Chowdhury, Nazrul Islam Babu, Chhatra League Central President Saifur Rahman Sohag, Madaripur Zila Parishad Chairman Miyaz Uddin Khan, Shibchar Upazila Parishad Chairman Rezaul Karim Talukdar and Madaripur district unit Awami League President Shahabuddin Ahmed Mollah, among others, delivered speech.
