The Meena Kumari biopic has been making the round for a while now. Tigmanshu Dhulia was Kern to cast Vidya Balan after reports suggested that Kangana Ranaut had walked out of the film. The latest on the film is that even Vidya Balan has decided to opt out of the project.
Meena Kumari’s family had issued a statement saying they weren’t happy with Vidya being cast for the film, after which Vidya too decided to walk out saying the script wasn’t doing enough justice to the iconic actress. Vidya confirmed this, “No, I’m not doing the Meena Kumari-biopic anymore. It didn’t quite work out. I love Meena Kumari. If I had a girl crush on somebody, it would be her. If she was alive, I’d probably land up to see her all the time. I am that fascinated by her. I always wanted to play her.”
