Twenty-five years ago, popular drama Chhaya Shikari was made based on Selim Al Deen written a story. That drama was telecasted on Bangladesh Television (BTV) during that time where popular actress and director Afsana Mimi played the role of Suhi. After long time break, that play has been made again to telecast on BTV. The drama has been made to telecast last Friday of this month on BTV.
Promising actress Jannatul Sumaiya Heme acted in role of Suhi instead of Afsana Mimi in new Chhaya Shikari, produced by Mahbuba Ferdous. Mamunur Rashid, Abul Hayat, Mili Bashar, Sushoma Sarkar, Shamima Tusty, among others, also acted in other roles in the play.
While talking about acting in the drama in role of Afsana Mimi’s Suhi Heme told this correspondent, “It was really a challenging matter for me to play the role of Suhi in which Afsana Mimi Apu acted in that role 25 years ago. Everybody co-operated me well while taking part in shooting of the play. I have tried to portray the role Suhi properly while acting. Viewers will give their judgment after watching the play Chhaya Shikari.”
Meanwhile, within short days Amitabh Reza directed and Heme performed a new TV commercial will be aired. Heme performed as model in TVC of Nogod of Post Office. Now Heme is regularly acting in Selim’s serial Roudro Chhaya, Walid’s Joley Bheja Rong and Kochi Khondokar’s serial Bangi TV.
