Hemayet Molla emerged champions in the Summer Hits Carrom competition as he defeated Mohammad Ali Robin in the final held on Sunday at Moulana Bhashani Carrom Federation Training Room.
In the pulsating final Molla fought hard to beat Mohammad Ali Robin by 2-1 sets. Robin had to remain satisfied with the runners-up trophy. M Sanwar Hossain bagged the third spot.
In the women’s section, Afsana Nasreen of Eden Girl’s College became champion beating Farhana Nasreen Lipi in the singles final. Sabina Ahktar of Eden Girl’s College took the third position.
Altogether 40 players including men and women from Chittagong, Sylhet, Bagerhat, Dhaka University,
BUET and Eden Girl’s College took part in the meet.
Senior News Editor of Desh TV Mahmudul Hasan Shamim witnessed the final and gave away the prizes among the winners as chief guest.
