About 400 poor women in Khetlal upazila of the district have achieved self-reliance after receiving loan from Bangladesh Rural Development Board (BRDB) and engaged themselves in various income generating activities.
They brought revolutionary changes to their life getting the loan from the board for their small income generating projects.
The women also have been playing important role in alleviating poverty and changing rural economy through income generating activities during the past few years in the district.
Most of them have achieved successes through animal husbandry, rearing cows, goats and poultry birds, homestead gardening, farming fruits, fish and agro-activities.
BRDB officer Mijanur Rahman said we disbursed Taka 70 lakh as micro credit among 400 poor women under its Polly Progaty Project in the upazila.
Khetlal Upazila Nirbahi Officer Rasel Manjur said the government has taken step to develop socio-economic condition of poor and distressed women providing micro credit facilities through the project.
