A 14-year-old helper was killed when a truck overturned in front of the main gate of BSS Industries Pvt Ltd on the Dhaka-Chittagong highway in Malibagh area of Narayanganj Bandar upazila. The accident took place on Saturday (May 29) at around 11 pm.
Md. Sujan Haque, in-charge of Kamtal Investigation Center, said that the Dhaka Metro T-08-0314 truck was waiting to unload the goods outside the main gate of Abul Bashar Papers Mill. After a long wait, the helper fell asleep in the shade of the truck. At this time the driver drove the truck and entered the papers mill. The helper was crushed by the wheel and his body and head were crushed and he died on the spot.
The truck was seized but the driver escaped. The body was recovered and sent to Narayanganj morgue for autopsy. However, the identity of the deceased was not found.
Mostafa Kamal, Managing Director of BSS Industries, said the accident took place outside the factory, so we have no comment on the matter.
