Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Friday urged the Indian government to help Bangladeshi entrepreneurs invest in India, particularly in joint ventures, for a win-win situation for both the neighbouring countries.
She said Bangladesh welcomes Indian investment for further development of the country.
The Prime Minister came up with the remarks when Kolkata’s business leaders met her at Mandarin Room of Hotel Taj Bengal Kolkata in the evening.
After the meeting, PM’s Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim briefed reporters.
Sheikh Hasina sought support from Indian business leaders for river dredging in Bangladesh. “It’ll boost connectivity in the region,” she said.
Later, the Prime Minister attended a banquet at Raj Bhaban hosted by West Bengal Governor Keshari Nath Tripathi. Sheikh Hasina arrived here in the morning on a two-day official visit to India at the invitation of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
