A youth who allegedly carried out the attack on cops’ vehicles in the city’s Nayapaltan area has been arrested by the Detectives from the capital.
The arrested youth was identified as H K Hossein Ali alias Hridoy Khan, President of a Chhatra Dal, city’s Ward unit, said an officer of the Detective Branch (DB) of Police.
The law enforcers also identified his two accomplices in connection with the Nayapaltan sabotage. They are Ashraful Islam alias Rabin , Joint Secretary of Chhatra Dal city unit, and Shohag Bhuiyan, General Secretary of city’s Shajahanpur Thana unit , the DB official said.
They were led the procession on behalf of BNP standing Committee member Mirza Abbas, he said.
Police claimed that law enforcers have identified Paltan Thana Convener Committee members Shahjalal Khandakar, who allegedly set fire on cops vehicles, said Mishu Biswas, Assistant Commissioner of Motijheel Division under Dhaka Metroplitan Police (DMP).
But Police did not confirm his whereabout,
Earlier, there cases were filed accusing Mirza Abbas and some others with separate police stations in this connection.
