Detained two Shibirmen in the courts on Sunday late afternoon had admitted the killing of Ashram attendant Shyamananda Sarker at Radhamadan Bigraha Moth in Jhenaidah Sadar and Abdur Razzaque, a Homoeopath physician of Chapali village in Kaliganj Municipal area.
The information was briefed in a press conference in the office of the Superintendent of Police Altaf Hossain at 7.00 PM on Sunday.
In the courts of Additional CJM Fahmida Jahangir of Jhenaidah and Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate of Kaliganj Cognizance Court of Mohammad Alamgir Kabir, the detained confessed the killing incidents under the Section 164. The court recorded their confessional statements.
The detained Chhatra Shibir activists were Sabuj Khan, 21, son of Mohammad Ali of Haripur village of Jhenaidah Sadar, also the General Secretary of Bakulia Gram Committee unit of the students’ wing. and Shahin Alam, 23, son of Aminul Islam of Phulahari village in Sailkupa upazila. Shahin was the President of the wing in southern area of Jhenaidah Sadar.
The Police Super said, in the confessional statement both the detained said, they had killed Ashram attendant Shyamananda Sarker at Radhamadan Bigraha Moth at Kastosagra in Jhenaidah Sadar and Abdur Razzaque, a Homoeopath physician of Chapali village in Kaliganj as per the central decisions of the ICS in Dhaka.
The police arrested Sabuj from Haripur in Jhenaidah Sadar on Saturday, while Shahin Alam from Sheikhpara of Sailkupa upazila on Sunday morning, the police said.
Abdur Razzaque, a homoeopathic physician was hacked to death on March 15 night in his chamber on the Ganna road in Kaliganj town, while. Radhamadan Bigraha Moth Ashram attendant Shyamananda Sarker at Kastosagra in Jhenaidah Sadar was hacked to death on spot by the miscreants on July 1 near his workplace.
