Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh secretary general Nur Hossain Kasemi was shifted to the Intensive Care Unit of a hospital in the capital.
‘He was moved to ICU at night as his condition deteriorated,’ Hefazat’s Dhaka city publicity secretary Fakhrul Islam told the media.
He said that the Hefazat leader was admitted to United Hospital in the capital on December 1.
He was diagnosed with cold-related complications and tested negative for COVID-19.

levels dropped and he was shifted to the High Dependency Unit Thursday afternoon.
Later he was moved to the ICU as his physical condition deteriorated further around 8:00pm.
Fakhrul said that Hefazat and Kashemi’s family sought blessings of the countrymen for his early recovery.
Kasemi served as the party’s Dhaka city unit before getting the new role as Hefazat secretary general in mid-November in a major reshuffle in the platform following the death of its former chief Shah Ahmad Shafi on September 18.
