Light to moderate rain or thundershowers is likely to occur in some parts of the country with moderately heavy to heavy falls at several places over its northern part, a met office press release said on Wednesday.
“Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at a few places over Rangpur, Mymensingh, Sylhet and Dhaka divisions and at one or two places over Rajshahi, Khulna, Barishal and Chattogram divisions with moderately heavy to heavy falls at places over northern part of the country,” it said.
Mild heat wave is sweeping over the districts of Rajshahi and Pabna and it may continue.
Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
The low over West Central Bay and adjoining Northwest Bay off north Andhra Pradesh-south Odisha coast has become unimportant.
The axis of monsoon trough runs through Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal to Assam across northern part of Bangladesh. Monsoon is fairly active over Bangladesh and weak over North Bay.
Country’s maximum temperature on Tuesday was recorded 36.3 degrees Celsius at Ishurdi and minimum temperature on Wednesday was 24.0 degrees Celsius at Swandip.
Maximum rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6:00am yesterday was recorded 122 millimeters (mm) at Tetulia.
