Staff Reporter :Non-stop rain has created water-logging in different parts of the capital city on Monday. Consequently, city residents, office employees, students, traders and day-labourers suffered and were waiting for transports standing in the ankle to knee deep water.A total of 40 millimeters of rainfall was recorded in the city in six hours rain at 2:30 pm, the Metrological Department officials said.It also said that the highest 41mm rainfall was recorded at Patuakhali in the morning. The rainfall, which is the effect of the depression in the western Bay of Bengal, may continue for two more days.Beginning early morning, it began to rain cats and dogs from 8:00am and continued for two hours, submerging a number of city streets.The city’s Green Road, Testuri Bazar, Mohammadpur, Razar Bagh Police Lines, Fakirapool, Malibagh and Mughdapara, among others’ went under ankle to knee deep water, causing immense sufferings to the commuters, particularly the females and the patients.Besides, most of the districts across the country went through the massive rainfall in the morning. The districts are Sylhet, Chittagong, Chandpur, Mymensingh, Rangamati, Pabna, Dinajpur and Patuakhali.
