Sylhet Correspondent :

The Sylhet city along with some other parts of the district has experienced rainfalls round the day Tuesday due to active monsoon.
Met office recorded highest 131.8 millimetre rain has been recorded from 12am till 6am on Tuesday.
Due to the heavy downpour throughout the day, the city experienced serious water logging in most of the areas that caused severe traffic jams on major thoroughfares. Most of the roads in the city went under knee-deep water and water even entered inside many roadside shops and houses.
Many motorised vehicles went out of order in the midst of traffic as water sipped into their engines, aggravating the traffic situation.
Similar scenes were witnessed at Charadighirpar, Sowdagortula, Hawapara, Agpara, Zerzeripara, Khoradipara, Senpara, Pathattula, Gutatikor and many areas of the city.
A number of vehicles, including rickshaws, faced accidents falling in the holes hidden under logged rainwater.
Anonto Biswas, an official of Sylhet Meteorological office, told that: ‘A 131.8 millimetre rain has been recorded from 12am till 6am on Tuesday.’
Day’s temperature may fall slightly over the country while rainfall activity may increase.
