Heavy rain for the last couple of week has created waterlogging and inundated vast areas of Monirampur Upzila.
A good number of houses went under water and about 85% fishes of ponds went in the open water. The most affected areas are 3 unions of Kapattakhi river basin and Bhabadah adjacent beel area.
As the bed of the river Kapattakhi. Bure Badra, Sree and Takar rivers was silted and rise up to 6-10 feet and thus a water logging was created inundating the low land of Bhabadah and Kapattaki river basin.
Locals said as a result some area of Jhampa, Horihornagar, Moshimnagar of Kapattaki river basin and Dohar Moshihati, Kultia, of Kultia Union, Balidha, Panchakoria of Nehelpur Union, Monohorpur, Khakundia of Monohorpur Union, were partly inundated.
