Heather Watson is into the semi-finals at Eastbourne after Petra Kvitova pulled out with a hamstring injury.
The British number one was due to face the Czech in the quarter-finals of the Aegon International on Thursday, but the second seed was forced to withdraw.
Watson, 22, who defeated Italy’s Flavia Penetta in three sets on Wednesday, will face either Madison Keys or Lauren Davis in the last four on Friday.
Kvitova hopes to be fit for Wimbledon, which starts on Monday.
The 2011 champion, who is seeded sixth at SW19, says she doesn’t believe the injury to her right hamstring is too serious.
“I started to feel it yesterday morning,” she said.
“I played quite a solid match yesterday, but today was much worse.
“I hope that I’m going be ready for Wimbledon. I hope that some days off will help.
“I don’t think it’s any strain or something very serious. It’s really painful, so I really couldn’t move, but I hope it’s going to be good.
“Wimbledon is starting on Monday, and I need to be ready for there.”
Kvitova had beaten Lucie Safarova and Varvara Lepchenko in her first two matches at Eastbourne.
