Bangladesh Meteorological Department on Wednesday predicted that the ongoing heat wave might continue while weather would remain mainly dry over the country in the next 24 hours commencing at 9 am yesterday.
“Mild to moderate heat wave is sweeping over Dhaka, Rajshahi, Khulna, Barishal and Sylhet divisions and the regions of Rangamati and Sayedpur, and it may continue at some places,” said a Met Office bulletin issued here.
Rain or thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at one or two places over Rajshahi, Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, Chattogram and Sylhet divisions, the bulletin said, adding that weather might remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country.
Day temperature may fall by one or two degree Celsius and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.
The highest temperature on Tuesday was recorded 39.2 degrees Celsius in Chuadanga under Khulna Division, while Wednesday’s minimum temperature was 19 degree Celsius in Tetulia and Dimla under Rangpur Division.
