Heat wave likely to continue

Bangladesh Meteorological Department on Tuesday said that the existing heat wave over some places in the country may continue in the next 24 hours as of 9 am today.
“Mild heat wave is sweeping over Khulna and Dhaka divisions and the regions of Rajshahi, Pabna, Barishal, Patuakhali and Noakhali and it may continue”, said a Met office bulletin issued here.
“Day and night temperature may rise slightly over the country”, it added. Also, the met office predicted rain saying, ” Rain/thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty/squally wind is likely to occur at a few places over Rangpur, Mymensingh & Sylhet divisions and at one or two places over Rajshahi, Dhaka & Chattogram divisions and the regions of Jashore & Kushtia”. However, the weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country.
The highest temperature on Monday was recorded 37.8 degrees Celsius in Rajshahi and
Tuesday’s minimum temperature 21.0 degrees Celsius in Mymensingh and Netrokona under Mymensingh division.
