Court Correspondent :A Dhaka court yesterday (Sunday) fixed October 26 for hearing on the remand of MP Abdur Rahman Bodi, accused of concealing real information about his wealth.Magistrate Ataul Haque of the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka passed the order in response to the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) Special Public Prosecutor Md Kabir Hossain’s plea for a 10-day remand to quiz the Awami League lawmaker Bodi about his alleged involvement in amassing illegal wealth. He was elected from Cox’s Bazar-4 constituency.On October 16, Dhaka’s Metropolitan Sessions Judge Court rejected his bail petition in the case. Earlier, on October 12, Metropolitan Magistrate Maruf Hossain of the CMM Court sent MP Bodi to jail rejection his bail plea.On August 21, ACC deputy director Khairul Huda and Abdus Sobhan filed the case with Ramna Police Station against him. After investigation, ACC officials found abnormal increase in Bodi’s wealth and their report was based on the affidavits, Bodi submitted to the Election Commission before the 9th and 10th parliamentary elections. He allegedly concealed information about his wealth worth Tk 10.87 crore and showed Tk 1.98 crore as excessive value of his really low valued assets.
