The Appellate Division of the Supreme Court is scheduled to hear the review petition of Mir Quasem Ali on Monday.
Mir Ahmed Bin Quasem, son of Mir Quasem said, they have submitted the petition seeking two more months time against the judgment of High Court that upheld the death sentence awarded by the International Crimes Tribunal-2 (ICT-2) on November 2 in 2014.

Hasan Foez Siddique fixed July 25 for the hearing of the petition filed by Mir Quasem Ali on June 22.
Mir Quasem’s lawyer submitted the petition to the apex court seeking review of the verdict on June 19.
Senior Lawyer Mabub Hossain said, the defence need more time for preparing arguments on the review petition.
Attorney General Mahbubey Alam said, he will be very disappointed if the hearing on the review petition submitted by Mir Quasem Ali is deffered.
Talking to the New Nation, Mahbubey Alam said, “Mir Quasem Ali being a very influential person has appointed a lobbyist firm from the United State of America. He can influence the judgment. I will be very disappointed if his review hearing is differed.”
