Court Correspondent :
The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka on Monday deferred the hearing on charge framing against 26 BNP men including the party Acting Secretary General, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, till November 25 in a sabotage case.
The court deferred the date in response to a time petition submitted on behalf of the defence citing the reason that BNP leader Amanullah Aman was not produced in the court from the jail on the occasion.
On March 2, 2013, Paltan Police Station SI Mehedi Moksud filed the case on the charge of vandalism and setting fire on vehicles during the hartal (Shutdown) sponsored by the BNP-led alliance.
Later, on March 26 of the same year, SI Aminul Islam, who is also the Investigation Officer of the case, submitted the charge sheet to the court against 26 leaders and activists of BNP including Mirza Fakhrul.
