Hearing on charge framing against 26 BNP leaders deferred

The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka yesterday (Wednesday) deferred the hearing on charge framing against 26 BNP leaders and activists, including its Acting Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, in two separate cases filed with Paltan and Shahbagh Police Stations under the Speedy Trial Act.
Magistrate Tarek Mainul Islam Bhuiyan of the CMM Court fixed December 8 for charge indictment hearing against the BNP men.
On March 2 in 2013, the two cases were filed against the BNP leaders and activists in connection with vandalizing and torching vehicles.
 Of the two cases, Mirza Fakhrul and 25 others were made accused in the case filed with Paltan Police Station, while 41 leaders and activists of the party, including BNP Standing Committee member Barrister Moudud Ahmed, were accused in the other case filed with Shahbagh Police Station.
