The Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court of Dhaka on Monday fixed February 3 for hearing on charge framing against 23 leaders and activists, including the party’s Acting Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.
Magistrate Atiqur Rahman passed the order in presence of Mirza Fakhrul Islam and BNP Vice Chairman Abdullah Al Noman, while BNP Standing Committee member Barrister Moudud Ahmed, Joint Secretary
General Aman Ullah Aman and Juba Dal President Syed Moazzem Hossain Alal were not present in the courtroom. Their lawyer Joynal Abedin Mesbah moved petition seeking more time.
The case was filed for vandalism and arson attack, in front of Viqarunnisa Noon School and College on March 2, 2013 during BNP-led alliance’s agitation programme. On March 20, 2013, Detective Branch SI Ruhul Amin Munshi submitted the charge sheet of the case to the court against the accused.
