Staff Reporter :A Chamber judge of the Supreme Court on Wednesday fixed July 14 for hearing the bail petition filed by Advocate M Asaduzzamn on behalf of detained journalist Shafik Rehman in the case of criminal conspiracy. Chamber bench judge of the Appellate Division Justice Hasan Foez Siddique forwarded the case to a full bench of the Appellate Division for its hearing filed against the journalist for his allegedattempts to abduct and murder Sajeeb Wazed Joy, son of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Detective Branch (DB) of Police arrested Shafik Rehman from his Eskaton Garden residence in the capital on April 16. He was shown arrested in the criminal conspiracy case filed with Paltan Police Station on August 3, 2015. He filed a petition with HC seeking bail in the case. The HC rejected his bail petition on the ground that the investigation into the case against him was going on.
