The Metropolitan Sessions Judges Court of Dhaka set October 25 for hearing on charge framing in the case filed over road crash death of two Shaheed Ramiz Uddin Cantonment College students on Airport Road on July 29.
After scrutinising the documents, the court on Monday accepted
homicide charges against the two drivers, two helpers and two owners of Jabal-E-Noor Paribahan buses accused for the deaths.
Judge KM Imrul Kayes of the court passed the order. Arrest warrants were issued against two accused namely helper Kazi Asad and owner Jahangir Alam, who were on the run since the death.
On September 6, Inspector Kazi Shariful Islam of Detective Branch (DB) submitted the charge sheet to the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) court in Dhaka against the six accused.
The accused are bus drivers Masum Billah and Zobair Hossain Sumon, their assistants Enayet Hossain and Kazi Asad, and bus owners Shahadat Hossain and Jahangir Alam.
The deaths of students of Shaheed Ramiz Uddin Cantonment College namely Abdul Karim Rajib, 18, and Dia Khanam Mim, 17, in the accident triggered nationwide student protests for safe roads.
Dia’s father Jahangir Alam lodged the case with Cantonment Police Station.
