A Dhaka Court on Tuesday fixed November 29 for hearing on charge-sheet in a case filed under Digital Security Act on charge of passing indecent comment on journalist Masuda Bhatti in a TV talk show on October 16.
Judge of Dhaka Cyber Crime Tribunal Mohammad As-Sams Jaglul Hossain passed the order yesterday, said Public Prosecutor (PP) of the concerned court Nazrul Islam Shamim.
“The court will issue a production warrant to produce Barrister Mainul Hosein before the court on November 29 and the court will accept the charge-sheet on the same day,” the PP said.
Sources said, the charge-sheet of the case was sent to the Dhaka Cyber Crime Tribunal from the Chief Metropolitan Magistrate (CMM) Court on Tuesday.
Earlier on October 24, Sumona Akhter Lily, Awami League Youth and Sports Sub-Committee Member, filed the case against Barrister Mainul Hosein with the Dhaka Cyber Crime Tribunal Judge Mohammad As-Sams Jaglul Hossain under sections 25(2) and 29 of the Act.
After the hearing of the complainant’s statement, the court also ordered Gulshan Police Station to list the case as an FIR.
