Healthcare services in Haor areas continue

The government is set to continue providing food assistance and free healthcare services to flood affected families in the haor region, said Additional Secretary of Health and Family Welfare Ministry Md. Habibur Rahman Khan.
He was addressing a press briefing at Kishoreganj Collectorate Conference Hall on Saturday noon with Deputy Commissioner Md. Azimuddin Biswas.
Primary Health Care Director and Joint Secretary Dr Khaleda Islam, Awami League Health Secretary Dr. Rokeya Sultana, Health Service Programme Manager Dr. Abdul Alim, Civil Surgeon Dr. Habibur Rahman, ADC (Gen) Torafder Akhter Jamil, ADC (Education & ICT) Golam Mohammad, Deputy Civil Surgeon Dr. Mujibur Rahman and Deputy Director of Disaster Mangement and Relief Md. Siddiqur Rahman were also present.
A medical team led by Health Additional Secretary Habibur Rahman visited Itna, Mitamoin haor affected upazila. Additional Secretary also said that the government will continue to provide monthly 30 kg rice, Taka 500 in each cash to each of 3.30 lakh flood affected area families and free medical service.
