The most poor city dwellers will get medicare facilities free of cost from this new year. Under this project about two lakh members of the 40 thousand poor families in the city will be brought under Mayor Health Card Project.
Health cards aimed at providing free medical services to poors are being distributed in city wards in phases .People under income range of Tk.8,600 per month will be given priority .
City Mayor AJM Nasir Uddin formally inaugurated the Health Card distribution Programme at CCC KB Abdus Sattar Auditorium yesterday afternoon .
These card holders will get advantages of 14 medicare service and 10 types of diagnostic tests under this programme. This card is applicable for only card holders and their family members.
The card holders will be provided medicare services whole year free of cost. In case of any accident and normal delivery and cesarean operation , City Corporation General Hospital and the CCC run Maternity General Hospitals will provide all possible medicare services free of cost. This card is non-transferable , CCC told to the reporter.
The estimated budget for implementing the health project of Mayor Health Card fixed Tk.26 crores annually including medicine cost of Tk.6 crores. City Mayor said there are about 15 lakh poor in the city.
Following the initiatives of this exclusive healthcare programmes, about 2 lakh dwellers will be benefitted in preliminary phase.
