Staff Reporter :At least eight persons, including mother and daughter, were killed and nine others injured in separate road accidents in five districts on Friday.Of them, four persons were killed and five others injured when a Cox’s Bazar-bound picnic bus rammed into a microbus on the Chittagong-Cox’s Bazar highway near Baraitoli in Chakaria upazila around 10:30am. The deceased have been identified as Tahera Begum, 58, Headmistress of Cox Bazar Model High School, her daughter Tazmiah Ismail, 25, student of BRAC University, Zoynal Abdin, 32, driver of the microbus, and Kohinur Akter, 20, housemaid of deceased Tahera, said our district correspondent, quoting the Chakarial Police Station’s Officer-in-Charge (OC) Prabhas Chandra Dhar. The body had been handed to the relatives of the deceased after post mortem. Meanwhile, a driver of an auto-rickshaw died after a covered van hit his vehicle near Bariar Hat in Feni district. The deceased was identified as Ismail Hossain, son of Yusuf.On the other hand, an eight-year old Madrasah student was crushed under wheels of a bus at Gabtala in Khulna around 9:00am. The deceased has been identified as Abdullah, 8, police said. In Tangail, two motorcyclists were killed in a road accident when a speedy passenger bus ran over them at Kalihati upazila around 4:45pm. The deceased have been identified as Zahir Uddin, 43, and Murad Hossain, 51. On the other hand, a woman was killed and three others injured when a truck hit their human hauler in Basail upazila at 2:00pm.
