The Election Commission had provided smart national identity card (NID) to notorious Rohingya robber leader Noor Mohammad who was killed in a gunfight with law enforcers in Teknaf of Cox’s Bazar early Sunday.
According to his smart NID card, the robber’s name is Noor Alam, son of Kala Mia and Saru Begum. His 10-digit smart NID number is 6004589963 and his date of birth is November, 25, 1983.
Director General of the EC’s National Identity Registration Wing Brig Gen Mohammad Saidul Islam told reporters at the Nirbachon Bhaban on Sunday that they also came to know about the matter and will form a probe body within a couple of days to investigate the matter.
“We came to know about the matter today…an investigation committee will be formed within a couple of days to look into the matter. The culprits must be punished,” he said.

No 27 camp in Teknaf in the early hours. On August 22, Noor Mohammad held the ear-ring ceremony of his daughter. The received gifts included one kilogram of gold, Tk 45 lakh in cash and other items.
Rashed Mahmood Ali, Chairman of Hnilla Union Parishad said that Noor Mohammad illegally entered in Bangladesh from Myanmar’s Akyab area in 1992.
He started residing at Jadimura area of ward no. 9 of the union renting a house. Later, he bought a piece of land and became a house owner.
He also formed a robber gang with Rohingya community members in the area.
Nur Mohammad married one woman of each camp in Teknaf to control the camps and lead criminal activities there. During his long stay in Bangladesh, Nur became billionaire and owned four homes, according to Rashed Mahmood Ali.
