HC trashes plea to scrap case against Aminul

The High Court on Thursday rejected a petition seeking the cancellation of a money-laundering case against former Posts and Telecommunications Minister barrister Aminul Haque filed by the Anti Corruption Commission (ACC). An HC bench comprising of Justice M Rezaul Haque Justice and M Khasruzzaman passed the order. Barrister Anik R Haque stood for the petitioner while advocate Khurshid Alam Khan represented the ACC.
Talking to reporters, Khurshid said there is no bar to continuation of the investigation into the case after the order. On June 7, 2012, the ACC filed the case against Aminul Haque, and his relative
M Mizanur Rahman, also former managing director of Teletalk, with Ramna Police Station for laundering Tk 17,08, 145.
Later, Aminul Haque had filed a petition with the High Court seeking the cancellation of the case.
