The High Court on Tuesday issued a rule upon the respondents to explain in four weeks as to why GM Quader’s appointment as Jatiya Party Chairman without holding any council should not be declared illegal.
The High Court Bench of Justice JBM Hassan and Justice Md Khairul Alam passed the order after primary hearing on a writ
petition filed by Md Jahir Uddin, a member of the party’s central committee.
Advocate Abdul Matin Khasru appeared in the court on behalf of the writ petitioner while Deputy Attorney General (DAG) Md Noor us Sadik stood for the State.
The DAG said, “The court issued the rule to know as to why the appointment of GM Quader as the party Chairman without any council should not be declared illegal.
