The High Court (HC) on Thursday ordered to grant Monthly Payment Order (MPO) to 308 school and college teachers.
The HC bench of Justice Md Ashfaqul Islam and Justice K M Kamrul Kader passed this order after final hearing on three separate writ petitions filed by those teachers.
Advocate Siddique Ullah Miah appeared in the court on behalf of the teachers while Deputy Attorney General Bashir Ahmed stood for the state.
After the court order Advocate Siddique Ullah Miah said, the petitioners were teaching in different educational institutions of the country after their appointments. They were deprived of MPO, provided from the state-exchequer, though they had already fulfilled all the conditions to get this. Finally, they filed writ petitions in the HC. After hearing, the HC delivered the verdicts.
Of them, 285 teachers are lecturer in the college level and 23 teachers are Assistant teacher in the schools.
