The High Court (HC) on Thursday ordered the Education Secretary (Secondary and Higher Education Division) and Director General (Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education Division) to grant monthly payment order (MPO) to 13 school and college teachers and employees of
Patuakhali and Thakurgaon districts.
The HC Bench of Justice Md Ashfaqul Islam and Justice K M Kamrul Kader delivered the verdict after hearing a rule issued previously following considering a writ petition filed by those teachers and employees.
Writ petitioners are: Mahfuza Sultana, Nazrul Islam, Naima Ferdous, Selim Khan, Monjur Alam, Abu Zafar Rafiqullah, Kamal Hossain and Nadira Sultana, teachers of ‘Engineer Faruq Talukder Women Degree College’ of Bauphal Upazila of Patuakhali district, Abdus Salam, Alamgir Hossain and Chunnu Baroi, three employees of the same college, Smapta Debnath, teacher of ‘Jamalpur High School’ of Thakurgaon district and Nayan Chandra Roy, teacher of ‘Badua High School’ of the same district.
Advocate Siddiq Ullah Miah appeared in the court for the petitioners.
