High Court Division of Supreme Court has issued Rule Nishi over the construction of Mayor House in city at Tiger Pass hill and stayed the construction work for seven days.
Following a writ petition filed by Advocate Asaduzzaman Siddiqui , HC bench comprising Justice Rezaul Hoque and Justice Abu Taher Md. Saifur Rahman issued this stay order after hearing the writ petition yesterday.
The Rule Nishi also asked the city corporation to remove the construction materials from the site by own cost of the corporation with refilling of earth over site.
Advocate of the writ petitioner Manzil Morshed defended the plaintiff .
HC Rule Nishi also asked the Deputy Commissioner of Chittagong and Director of Department of Environment, Chittagong to submit a report by 7 seven days to HC about the necessary permissions from CDA and DoE for cutting hill and others, DC office sources said.
