The High Court has sought to know what action has been taken against the 13 police personnel, whom two probe committees held responsible for an incident in Tangail in which four people were killed.
The bench of justices Md Moinul Islam Chowdhury and Md Iqbal Kabir ordered the inspector general of police and deputy inspector general (Dhaka range) on Monday to inform it of the actions taken against them by Mar 7.
The order came after submission of two probe reports, which held the policemen’s inefficiency, recklessness and dereliction of duty responsible for the incident. The reports, submitted to the police headquarters in December last year, also recommended punitive actions, including suspension, against the policemen.
