HC allows 7 expelled BUET students for exams

The High Court on Tuesday order the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) authorities to allow seven expelled students for their next semester examinations schedule to be held from December 27 next.
The High Court Bench of Justice JBM Hassan and Justice Md Khairul Alam passed the order after hearing seven separate writ petitions filed in this regard.
The BUET authorities expelled those seven students for seven semesters on charge of ragging other students of the institution.
The seven students are— Mirza Mohammad Galib,
Zahidul Islam, Muntasir Ahmed, Asif Mahmud, Md Muntasin, Anfalur Rahman and Aranb Chowdhury.
During the hearing, the HC wanted to know that if the students were involved in the murder of BUET student Abrar Fahad.
Then a representative of the BUET informed the court that they were not involved in the murder of Abrar Fahad.
The court said in its order that their examination would be cancelled if it is proved in the final disposing of the case that they were involved in the ragging.
