Hathazari Madrasa : 2 teachers relieved of duty, 4 teachers reinstated

Two teachers were relieved of duty while four others were reinstated at Al-Jamiatul Ahlia Darul Ulum Moinul Islam, popularly known as Hathazari Madrasa.
Mawlana Yahiya, senior teacher and member of the Hathazari Madrasa Managing Committee said that the managing committee took the decision on Tuesday night.
The two teachers relieved of duty are Mohammad Usman and Taki Uddin Aziz while the reinstated teachers are-Anowar Shah, Sayeed Ahmed, Mohammad Hasan and Mohammad Mansur.
The reinstated teachers had been relieved of duty when Shah Ahmad Shafi was the rector of the madrasa.
On Thursday, Shafi stepped down as the director general of Al-Jamiatul Ahlia Darul Ulum Moinul Islam, popularly known as Hathazari Madrasa, following the student unrest.
On Friday, Shafi breathed his last while undergoing treatment at Asgar Ali Hospital in the capital.
On Saturday, Shafi was laid to rest at Hathazari Madrasa complex.
On Saturday evening, the Shura Committee (highest decision-making forum) of the madrasa held a meeting and formed a three-member managing committee to run the institution. The three members of the managing committee are Abdus Salam, Sheikh Ahmad and Mawlana Yahiya.
Moreover, Hefazat-e-Islam Bangladesh Secretary General Junayed Babunagari has been made Chief Shaikul Hadith and Nazim-e-Talimat (director of education) after the death of Shafi.
Previously on June 17, the madrasa Shura Committee relieved Junayed Babunagari of his post from Assistant Director replacing Sheikh Ahmed.
The Hathazari Madrasa has more than 7,000 students who learn lessons on the basis of the principles of Deoband school of Islam.
