Information Minister Hasanul Haque Inu on Wednesday said, the government of Sheikh Hasina is not against the Media. Rather it is a Media friendly government. Media is now enjoying freedom lawfully.
‘The government did not make any law, harmful to media,’ the minister said. No media should be treated as government friendly or anti-government. Those who try to do it are not doing the right job, the minister said.
About declaration of the 9th wage board, he said, the government is morally in favour of the 9th wage. It has already taken steps to do so.
About search committee for holding a free, fair and impartial national election, the minister was critical of the BNP, which wants to create constitutional crisis.
The minister told all these in a views exchange meeting at Jessore Press Club in the evening attended, among others, by Jahid Hasan Tukun, President, Jessore Press Club, Tauhidur Rahman, General Secretary, Mizanur Rahman Tota and Ekram-ud- Daullah, former Presidents, Monotosh Basu and Anwarul Kabir Nantu, Vice-Presidents, Saifur Rahman Saif, Saiful Islam Sazal, Tauhid Zaman, Salim Hossain and Tohid Moni.
The minister, earlier, inaugurated a three-day flower fair and traditional cake festival arranged by the Chander Hat Jessore on the Jessore District Council premises.
Mobinul Islam Mobin, Farazi Ahmed Syeed Bulbul, Turani Chowdhury, Shahiduzzaman Lovelu and SM Arif spoke at the opening session of the festival.
