Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Saturday extended her heartiest congratulations to Pakistani female education activist Malala Yousafjai and Indian child rights activist Kailash Satyarthi for jointly winning the Nobel Peace Prize.
In a message, the Prime Minister said fearless Malala, the youngest Nobel laureate, lit the light of education in the Taliban-dominated Swat valley in Pakistan risking her own life.
Sheikh Hasina also said Kailash Satyarthi had struggled for a long silently to establish the rights of helpless children of poor
families and hoped that this achievement would encourage both of them to be more dedicated to establishing world peace.
“It would make the people of the subcontinent more courageous in establishing peace and justice by encountering militancy, terrorism and communalism,” she added.
The Prime Minister wished long life, good health and continued success of Malala Yousafjai and Kailash Satyarthi.
