Information Minister Dr Hasan Mahmud on Monday termed the Bhola incident as regretful and warned that tougher actions would be taken against the culprits who created the unstable situation after hacking a facebook ID.
“A vested quarter earlier tried to create chaotic situation in the country and the incident of Bhola was the continuation of their conspiracy,” he told reporters after attending seminar at a city hotel.
Bangladesh Air Force (BAF) and Civil Aviation Authority, Bangladesh (CAAB) jointly organised the three-day seminar on International Flight Safety.Hasan said it is not expected that anyone would create unstable situation after hacking others Facebook ID.
“It is condemnable and punishable offence,” he added. Urging all to be patience, the minister said the culprits who did such occurrence are the enemy of society and the country as well. “The perpetrators will have to be dealt with an iron hand. They are now trying to divert the incident into other way,” said Hasan, also Publicity and Publication Secretary of Awami League.
Replying to a question over Jubo League conference, the minister said the conference of the organisation would keep pivotal role in bringing dynamism and freeing the youth wing of AL from stigma.
“A preparatory committee to hold the conference has been formed. And I think the conference would play an important role in making Jubo League strengthen in the days to come,” he added.
Responding to another query about an allegation against Rashed Khan Menon on casino issue, Hasan said “I don’t want to say anything as the matter is under investigation. It will be regretful, if the allegation will be proved,” he added.
According to a press release, Hasan, in his speech in the seminar, applauded the noble objective of the seminar for creating opportunity for sharing experiences within military and civil organisations to enhance flight safety.
The minister also expressed that flight safety was not a business of Air Forces only and every aviation related organisation could be greatly benefitted from the concepts and practices of safety culture. He expected that the participants with their rich experience and knowledge would be able to identify different challenges for improving flight safety standards which will eventually benefit all the stake-holders. The aim of the seminar is to bridge the perspective on flight safety challenges of both civil and military community as the airspace is used jointly.
The theme of the seminar is “Team effort can ensure team safety”, added the release.
Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Masihuzzaman Serniabat, among others, was present in the inaugural session.
Military representatives from USA, Italy, China, Malaysia, India, Turkey, Indonesia, Sri Lanka, Maldives, Philippines, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Oman, Morocco, Nigeria, Zimbabwe and Bangladesh took part in the seminar. Representatives from Ministry of Defence, Bangladesh Army, Bangladesh Navy, Armed Forces Division (AFD), Bangladesh Police, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB), Biman Bangladesh Airlines Ltd, Bangladesh Flying Academy, Padma Oil Company, Bangladesh Atomic Energy Commission, MIST, and other civil airlines of Bangladesh participated in the seminar.
