The fifth day of another 120-hour spell of nationwide hartal, enforced by the BNP-led 20-party alliance to push for its various demands, including a fresh national election under a non-party administration, alongside its ongoing countrywide indefinite transport blockade, passed off amid stray incidents of violence on Thursday.
Incidents of crude bomb explosion, torching of public vehicles and government office, recovery of Molotov cocktails and arrest of 20-party men were reported from different places of the country, including the capital, Jhalakati, Naogaon, Khulna, Jessore and Barisal districts.
