Jatiyatabdi Chhatra Dal (JCD) has called for a dawn to dusk hartal today (Thursday) in Feni protesting the arrest of JCD leader and Cyber User Dal Convener Shariful Islam Russell.
Meanwhile, police arrested 12 JCD, Jamaat and Shibir workers from different parts of Feni in the wake of hartal.
Of the arrestees, there are Jamaat activist Mohammad Shahid Ullah and Islami Chhatra Shibir workers Main Uddin and Aftab Uddin.
Police sources said that the decision of arrest was taken to thwart unpleasant activities during the BNP alliance’s blockade.
