Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat on Thursday announced new protest program for seven days while Islamic Front Bangladesh called off their pre-schedule hartal program over the killing of Moulana Nurul Islam Faruqui. Chhatra Sena president of Chittagong city unit Shahadat Hossen confirmed that the hartal program that was scheduled to be held on Sunday has been withdrawn. Shahadat also said, “Our next course of program will be announced soon if government fails to arrest the killers.” Earlier, Islamic Front Bangladesh, Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat and Chhatra Sena have given a 24-hour ultimatum to arrest the killers of Moulana Nurul Islam Faruqui. Earlier on Wednesday night, unidentified miscreants slaughtered Moulana Nurul Islam Faruqui, a member secretary of Islamic Front Bangladesh at his East Rajabazar residence in the capital. He was also the ‘Khatib’ of the High Court Mazar Mosque.
