A reconciliation rally and peace procession has been held in Chitalmari to stand against the ongoing communal terrorism across the country. At 4 pm on Sunday, a peace procession started from the party office at the initiative of Upazila Awami League and its allied fraternal organizations, went around the main road of Sadar Bazar in Chitalmari and ended at the same place.
District Awami League Vice-President and Upazila Parisad Chairman Ashok Kumar Baral and Upazila Awami League President Md Babul Hossain Khan and General Secretary Piyush Kanti Roy spoke on the occasion.
Among others, Sadar UP Chairman and Vice President of Upazila Awami League Sheikh Nizam Uddin, Sheikh Badsha Mia, Joint-General Secretary Sheikh Keramat Ali, Convener of Upazila Awami Juba League Md. Sheikh Nazrul Islam, Joint Convener Sheikh Mahatabuzzaman, Upazila Chhatra League General Secretary Robin Hira and the chairmen of all the unions and the leaders of the Awami League and all its allies and fraternal organizations were present. Thousands of people of all religions including Muslims, Hindus, and Christians were present at the rally and peace procession.
