Today is the birthday of internationally acclaimed film actress Jaya Ahsan. But she is not in Bangladesh right now. She is in Kolkata now. Jaya is first Bangladesh actress who got the Filmfare Award. In 2011, she got the National Film Award in Bangladesh for acting in Nasir Uddin Yousuff’s Guerilla. Later, she got the same honour for acting in Redoan Rony’s Chorabali and Animseh Aich’s Zero Degree.
While talking about celebration of her birthday Jaya told this correspondent, “This birthday is not to be celebrated in country but I will miss all on my birthday. Everybody pray for me as I can remain well and can be able to present good movies for the viewers. Only viewers’ love I am now today’s Jaya Ahsan. To keep in mind their choice, I am acting in good story based movies.”
Meanwhile, in Mymensingh, Jaya has started shooting of a government-grant movie titled Altachokro. Story of this liberation war supported movie is based on noted litterateur Ahmed Sofa’s novel where Jaya is acting in role of Tayeba. Habibur Rahman Habib is giving direction of it.
Jaya also informed that in Kolkata, she is busy now with shooting of movie Bini Sutoy, which is being directed by Atanu Ghosh. Besides acting, Jaya also rendered play-back song in this film.
In Bangladesh, Jaya has already performed as a model in a TV commercial of a multinational company’s liquir. Jaya-starred movie Beauty Circus is going to release soon, she added.
